Care & Maintenance:

Machine Washing

Designed for convenience, these rugs fit washing machines with 9kg capacity or higher. Wash separately at a maximum of 30°C using a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and prolonged sun exposure. Tumble dry on low heat. Never leave the rug in the washer after the cycle completes.

Initial Setup

After unpacking, lay the rug flat for a few days to allow it to settle naturally. Gently vacuum or brush to restore the pile. Avoid robot cleaners or vacuums with beater bars to protect the delicate texture.

Natural Shedding

Cotton rugs may shed fibers when new or during regular use. This is a natural feature and not a fault. Shedding reduces within 3–6 months with regular use and washing. We recommend gentle vacuuming with no brush or rotating head attachment to clean.

Stain Treatment

Ensure you attend to spills immediately to minimize the chance of staining. Do not rub the spill. Instead, blot any liquids with a dry, absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. Mild detergent and lukewarm water may need to be used for tougher stains. For harsher spills, please seek specialist advice.

Professional Maintenance

Professionally clean the rug every 6–12 months and rotate its position in the space regularly to ensure even wear and maintain its appearance.

Handcrafted Quality: Some of our rugs are handmade from durable natural fibers. The imperfections seen within are features of these rugs and include sprouting yarns (where the weaving process starts and finishes), color variations, foreign material (used in the warp and weft), and other characteristics which may appear as defects but are signs these rugs were made with care.

Natural Fiber Characteristics: Wool, sheepskin, and other animal-based fibers are subject to odors. The odors are part of the nature of the rug. Please allow the rug to be aired out, or seek professional advice if not subsiding.

Size Variations: We try to be as accurate with sizing as possible, but there may be variations within +/- 5% of sizing (up to 10% for our handmade items and folded rug collections).

Color Accuracy: Please note that due to the difference in monitor colors, some rug colors may vary. We try our best to represent all rug colors accurately but cannot take responsibility for variations between digital images and the actual product.

Important Tip: We recommend an anti-slip pad such as Rug Stop. This is used underneath rugs to prevent slippage between the rug and the surface it is placed on, ensuring safety for children and pets.
